stella site launches
The one everyone has been waiting for, InBev switch their TV strategy to online. Stella's site estimated to cost £2million created by Lowe. This site is film rich media. At first look I'm impressed although I dislike the way the passive and interactive experience is separated out, why? Some of the game play is not intuitive enough, leaving you to poke the thing to death.
This will be setting the bar for the ad and drink industry now. Clients will have to wake up to the fact that 100K budgets for digital just doesn't cut the mustard any more. Can we stop talking about digital as being the add on thing now?

NY Times dumps subscription
Seems like this will be the first of many newspapers to get rid of subsriptions. Online advertising still continues to grow with News Corp planning a $5bn acquisition of Dow Jones, so Wall Street Journal could be the next to give free news away sponsored by brands. where are the joneses
This webisode series of 'Where are the Joneses' is a nimble production and loosely ties into the idea of get in a Ford and find your family. Scripts created on the fly by users via their site. Steve Coogans production company made these which shows. Actually speaking of Steve Coogan, his kids use to go to my daughters school. It was very odd seeing him in the play ground at pick up time or at Christmas plays, I always expected him to come over to me and say 'A Ha!' or 'Monkey tennis?'
Juan Cabral at Fallon speaks of this tactic as a contract, you the user watch the ad bit and as a reward you get something interesting to watch, just like his new Gorilla ad.
