pocket capsule project

this seems to be an MTV generation attempt of the Andy Warhol time capsule concept. Although I would suspect that Andy was a better curator. Ephemeral masturbation or just nosey?

Zzzunday [zuhn'-day] n.national holiday occurring once every 28 years, when a Leap Year coincides with a Sunday. Zzzunday is celebrated with 24 hours of uninterrupted sleep, in recognition of an entire generation accumulated sleep deficit. Secondary holidays have grown to immediately precede Zzzunday, including Sleepless Friday, and a Hibernation Saturday of block parties, children sleepovers, and retail promotional sales of bed linens, mattresses, and pillows. Traditionally, insomniacs mark Zzzunday by going out to a Chinese restaurant if they can find one open that day.

rhythm of lines audi a5

elegant and clever design for a site. the speed is a little too fast to feel fully in control but a small glitch considering the over all design.

google black

Nicola Davies posted this good energy saving idea by google. But why don't google just turn their pages black, or even better grey as this is better for non burn out on the eyes when viewing screens.
http://www.blackle.com/
Mark Ontkush wrote an article about the energy saving that would be achieved if Google had a black screen:
When your screen is white, be it an empty word page, or the Google page, your computer consumes 74 watts of energy, and when it's black it consumes only 59 watts.
Taking in account Google's huge number of page views, according to his calculations, 750 mega watts/hour per year would be saved.
In a response to this Google created a black version of its search engine, called Blackle, with the exact same functions as the white version, but with lower energy consumption.

fluid elegant design. fashion seems to have all the white space fun when it comes to web design. so good to see frames being forgotten in designs like this, after being a blot on the web design landscape for far too long.

i particularly like the floating navigation and the connected interactive letter/lines animation at the front end of the site. click on some dots and they stay in place while the others speed up.

time lapse photography, glowsticks and some fireworks sounds like a right rave up.

harness the power of online

don't make me laugh, attending the campaign online conference was like a double glazing get to gether. Maybe the event organisers should learn how to set up and create a proper day of presentations. Paying the large fee to attend this shambles was summed up by the logo falling off the back stage, presentations lost on the PC, speakers blowing up and half the presenters who didn't know the first thing about engagement with the audience. Exceptions were Bill Brock Tribal, Martin Gill Comic Relief, Jay Stevens MySpace and Guy Phillipson IAB.

If these events do cost so much to put on book a cheaper venue and hire a decent events agency to make the thing buzz with excitement, oh and get some seroius players that actually know what they are talking about, this event was dull. Poor show Campaign very poor.
